More like a memo to myself

This is very not up to date on my progress.

Anyway...I made a pattern! It's mediocre! I took this screenshot because I liked the way it looked like a screen before I started to warp it around.

This is a pointless post. I could've just kept this file in a folder. But, no! Thea doth protesteth to such a waste of memory on her hard-drive!

It's like my childhood came out of the depths with its spindly arms and pulled me under

I have been recruited

Meet Dame Kakita Tomoe.

I started playing BESM recently. Although it may seem strange to you guys, role-playing was quite a hobby for me during childhood.

I don't want to go into too much detail about her. All you need to know is that my character is pretty badass. Though I will go into detail about her design:

She is half dragon, so I had to give her some recognizable features. After the preliminary sketches, I had an epiphany! Make her an asian dragon! This idea suited her a lot better since her design is more japanese (nerd). But what really initiated that idea was how I could incorporate that into her outfit! I had recalled that Generals in the late Bakumatsu Era wore uniforms with red fur head-dresses - and asian dragons have those manes...Bingo!!

So in the end, I pandered to my rekijo tendencies but having her wear a period military uniform.

The "Moist" Fair a Rose!

I finally get out of my drawing hiatus and this is the what I do?

If I can give credit to anything for provoking me to pick up the pen again, it's http://fuckyeahterribleart.tumblr.com/ (NSFW) DO NOT look at this site unless you want to see the bowels of the art world.

Since I have been pretty much censoring myself from anything mainstream, today in general could be described as "Looking at the worst of the world and it's skills" Day.

I was chatting with the lovely Kiki and like always, our chat got a little creative.

Which brought up Heatcliffe. He's a character that first showed up on Kiki's birthday card this year. He's basically my romance novel persona and oh-so sexy!

Because of today's events (or lack of), I decided to draw Heatcliffe and Franessicarial (yes, I made that name up on the spot) in the style of that tumblr. It's quite epic. I even added poetry! I chose a font! ROMANCEEEE

So I can honestly say drawing with Photoshop for me to synonymous to crap.

To Hell and Back

First thing I have drawn in awhile. I'll blush if I explain this. Oh my maiden heart!

All in all, things have been getting better. I'm trying to establish some sort of rhythm, especially after the "Week from Hell." Though sometimes I realize I'm still shell-shocked. To keep my mind off of things and to give me a little strength, I turn to certain...interests.

Yes. Generals. Though I am pretty particular about who I idolize. My current favorite is - can you guess - MacArthur.

About a month ago, before that week, I went to the Highland Games. It was at that fateful place that I found this:

Gaaah MacArthur's crush cap!!!

And my passion was set aflame once again...

I did buy a crush cap that day, but not MacArthur's. 1. Too expensive (not that the one I bought was cheap either). 2. Too big 3. I'm not good enough to be a pseudo five star general.

A few days ago, I made a pilgrimage to MacArthur Square.

There's me being respectful.

So I guess the point I'm trying to get across in this very not-art-related tangent is that these are the famous dead people that keep me excited enough to keep going forward; regardless of the challenges.

By the way, that sketch is pretty much my Halloween costume. Just saying.

The Point of Origin

It is widely believed that my love of large cities stemmed from a visit to Chicago when I was 3 years old. Even then, my un-evolved self was able to appreciate the towering skyscrapers and impressive architecture. Upon this latest visit, one could say my reaction upon seeing its silhouette in the distance was no different than those many years ago.

I shall share some photographs of this recent experience.

The city beckons!

Chicago has such a rustic grit. I love it.

My new interest in parking garages.

I was inclined to join in in the frolicking as well.

Art.

An asteroid, I presume.

It smelled like chai.

Brazilian jazz and gorgeous architecture. All around perfect atmosphere.

The bean!

A majestic lamppost.

Millennium Park has become my favorite Chicago location.

Suddenly feeling nostalgia towards my childhood abstract period.

The famous Marshall Field's clock. Unfortunately, the store itself is now a Macy's.

Now this decor really stood out to me.

Even the planter and foliage match!

The curvature!

Wow.

Train station...

taking us away~

Urban photography will persist! Not even depression can stop it!!

Almost a month ago,  I was having a spell of, well, broken dreams. On the worst of those days, I went to the city. Despite my melancholy mood, I kept taking photographs...about every three steps. I apologize to the people that accompanied me that night.

I was trying to get a picture of my growing photography interest: parking garages. This one obviously failed. The window is partly to blame.

I can see the future!

It's like a tiny japanese building, only not tiny.

What a nice entrance for a lot~

Like an Urban Outfitters® tag!

Aaaaaah propaganda fodder!

How informative!

Extremely dangerous benches.

A little creepy under here.

Successful parking garage photograph!

This is my favorite shot. The perfect angle for a skyscraper.

Parking garage!

Again!

The contrasting colors were perfect at dusk.

Ahhh...more parking.

Onomnomnom

This used to be one of my favorite stores.

This store looks a lot cooler than it actually is.

A store of many a destiny shoe.

Hot Pop!

I'll be buying a lot from here once I am rich and have a nice loft.

I even cut back a lot, but there are still a ton of pictures. I probably could've cut back more. Oh well.
